Looking after your wooden furniture is not difficult. Here are just a few guidelines:

Moisture is the worst enemy for furniture, so any spilt liquid should be wiped off immediately.

The surface of sideboards and tables must be protected from heat as well as from wet and coloured objects.

Furniture intended for indoor use only should always be placed in rooms with normal temperature and humidity (16-25 degrees C with a humidity of 40-70%)

Furniture should not be placed directly against hot-air blowers or radiators

If your wooden furniture is unfortunately damaged, it is necessary to seek professional advice.
Wooden furniture should be wiped clean with a dry cloth or a cloth that has been firmly wrung in clean water. Afterwards it is important to wipe with a clean, dry cloth.
Dirty surfaces can be cleaned with a cloth placed in soapy water (a teaspoon of detergent per litre of water) and then firmly wrung. Afterwards it is important to wipe the furniture with a dry, clean cloth. Never use furniture polish that contains Silicon, it is not good for your furniture.
In order to quickly obtain a surface that is resistant to dirt and moisture you must treat your new piece of furniture with soap before using it and then once a week afterwards for 3 or 4 weeks. After that period, you may treat the item of furniture with soap when required.
This treatment should be done only in a professional furniture shop as it requires sanding and relacquering.
